Budapest
- Széchenyi Baths – often crowded but a marvelous site, they just renovated half of the large outdoor pool as well
- Faust Wine Cellar – enjoy a Hungarian Wine Tasting in the bottom of a hotel. It is the quaintest cellar and most romantic place to learn all about Hungarian made wine
- Labyrinth of Buda Castle
- Fisherman’s Bastion – fairytale like outpost on top of Buda Hill
- Hungarian Parliament Building – an amazing sight during the day and also when it is lit up at night
- St. Steven’s Basilica
- Chain Bridge – walk across the bridge to take in the lion statues and aqua details
- Raday Road – where many restaurants are located
- Semmelweis Medical Museum – a quirky museum situated in the mountain
- St. Istvan Basilica – witness a mass in Hungarian in this spectacle of a cathedral
- Kadar Etkezde – go here for authentic goulash (YUM!)
- Buda Castle – hike up or take the funicular up for stunning views and a wonderful museum
- Gellert Spa – my all time favorite spa. Less crowded than others with amazing tilework. The relaxation is very real here, including scented saunas and multiple baths.
- Hike up Gellért Hill to the Citadella
- Danube Promenade
- Ruin Pubs – the most famous is Szimpla Kert for good reason
- Matthias Church – the mosaic tiles and fish scale details will take your breath away
- Central Market Hall – I discovered my all time favorite food upstairs of this market, the langos
